Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Party Rider collects through Party Rider, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Sign-in: your mobile number or email address. If you choose Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email and profile photo from them.
- Profile: your name, a number venues can call, and your home city, if you add them.
- Bookings: tickets, reservations, guest-list and table requests, occasion enquiries, check-ins and notes you write to venues.
- Payments: when you pay online, Razorpay processes your card or UPI details. We only receive a payment reference and the result, never your card number.
- Location: used in your browser to show nearby events. We keep a rounded location (about 100 m) for your session only and don't store it against your account.
Why we use it
- To sign you in, take your bookings, and show your tickets.
- To share your name and phone number with the venue or organizer you book with, so they can confirm your booking and let you in. You see this before you book.
- To send sign-in codes, booking confirmations and receipts.
- To prevent fraud and keep records required by tax law.
We don't sell your data, and we don't send marketing messages without your consent.
Who processes it for us
Our hosting provider; Resend (email); MSG91 (SMS); Razorpay (payments); and Google or Facebook, if you sign in with them. Each one processes your data only to provide its service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Booking and payment records are kept for 8 years because tax law requires it, but once you delete your account they no longer carry your name or phone number. Sign-in codes are deleted after use.
Your rights
- Access: download your data from Account → Settings.
- Correction: edit your details in Settings.
- Erasure: delete your account in Settings.
- Withdraw consent, nominate someone to act for you, or complain: use the contact details on our contact page.
If we don't resolve your complaint, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Deleting your data (including Facebook and Google sign-in)
To delete your account and personal data: sign in, open Account → Settings, choose Delete my account, and type DELETE to confirm. This removes your name, phone, email, saved events and your Facebook or Google link straight away. If you can't sign in, use the contact details on our contact page with the phone or email on the account, and we'll delete it within 7 days. You can also remove Party Rider from your Facebook account under Settings → Apps and websites.
